THE PUERTO VALLARTA OLD TOWN FARMERS’ MARKET

The Old Town Farmers Market will be open every Saturday starting March 27th from 10 am to 1 pm. The Market is located in the new Paradise Community Center at Pulpito #127 (across from Coco’s Restaurant)

ELIGIBLE VENDORS AND PRODUCTS:

The Old Town Farmers Market strives to provide a market place where fresh, local products and artisanal crafts are sold. Vendors must reside and produce the items they sell locally.

Products allowed are agricultural, horticultural or artisanal food and craft products that have been grown, raised, harvested, preserved or transformed in some way by the vendors.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Products must be homemade, (i.e. personally hand-crafted) (No wholesale, resale or commercial retail permitted).
Products must be homegrown, (i.e. grown on own or leased acreage) (No wholesale or resale or commercial retail permitted).
Vendors are accepted based on the items approved as listed on the application form, and as such may only sell approved items. Any changes or additions to product lines must be approved by the Market Manager IN ADVANCE.
Vendors will be assigned stalls by the Market Manager on a first come, first serve basis. Requirements for electrical hook up must be arranged in advance and are provided as available.
Vendors are required to pay the stall fee on a weekly basis.
Vendors will be allocated an 8 foot space and are responsible for providing their own tables, chairs and display items.
Vendors will have access to the market at 8:30 am for set up and must clean and vacate their stall no later than 30 minutes after the market closes. Vendors are required to be in place and ready to operate by 9:45 am.
Public selling begins at 10 am sharp and no earlier. Before the 10 am opening of the market vendors may sell to other vendors.
Vendors may not disassemble their stall(s) until after the market closure bell at 1 pm. Sold out vendors may not leave before 1 pm. (Vendors are required to display a sold out sign on the table and take down the stall after the market closes)
Each vendor must complete and sign a vendor agreement and have product approval prior to attending their first market.
Any ownership change of business, at any time, requires a new vendor application.
SIGNAGE GUIDLINES:
All stalls must have a visible sign displaying the vendors name and address.
all items for sale must display a price, either an individual price tag or a price displayed on the basket, box, tray, etc.
all written material must be in both English and Spanish.
Vendors are required to be present and selling at their space(s) during the time their goods are offered for sale.
Vendors may assign persons to assist them in selling their products if the representative is knowledgeable of the products and either a family member or employee of the vendor and directly involved in the production process. All children under the age of 12 and in the care of vendors during market hours need to be supervised by an adult at the vendors stall.
Vendors may not share their space with others without the expressed written consent of Market Manager.
Any cooperative selling arrangements between vendors (one vendor selling another vendor’s products for him/her in the event that the vendor cannot be present) must be pre-approved by the Market Manager.
All food vendors are responsible to know and comply with all applicable health regulations.
Baking and all other foods must be properly covered, kept at proper temperatures, and displayed on tables that are covered with a tablecloth. All food products (including individual servings) must be wrapped and comply with all applicable health regulations.
Beverages & single servings may only be sold at concessions.
CLEANLINESS AND APPEARANCE OF THE MARKET:
Vendors must supply their own table, no larger that 240cm (8 ft) in length and 90cm (3 ft) in width.
With the exception of horticultural products, all other products must be displayed at a minimum of 30cm (1 ft). off the ground. All products and marketing material must be contained within the allocated space.
Vendors providing samples or operating concessions must supply garbage containers in a location easily visible and accessible to customers.
Vendors must remove all garbage including bags, boxes, and refuse from produce. Garbage cans provided in the market are for the use of CUSTOMERS ONLY. Vendors must bring their own broom and dust pans for clean up.
Smoking is not permitted within the market area.
No consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs is permitted in the market area or vendor stalls.
Vendors may not bring there dogs to the market and all market goers dogs must be on a leash.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH MARKET RULES & REGULATIONS:

Infractions may result in, and not necessarily in this order: a written warning; a $500 pesos charge and/or expulsion from the market. All decisions made by the Farmers Market Manager are final.

NOTE: THE OLD TOWN FARMERS MARKET RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE, INTERPRET AND ENFORCE THESE POLICIES AND GUIDELINES AS DEEMED NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN THE CONSISTENCY AND INDIVIDUALITY OF THE MARKET FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL SERVED BY THE MARKET.
